Once the Auto Attendant has been created, click the Intro to Record<\/strong> to record the first message the caller will hear.  Each Auto Attendant can have an optional introductory greeting that plays when a call is directed to the Auto Attendant, followed by the menu prompt. An example of an introductory greeting might be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you for calling ABC Company. Our offices are now closed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A menu prompt might be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPress 1 for sales, press 2 for service, or press 0 for operator assistance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separating intro greetings into menu prompts allows you to change greetings for holidays or night-time hours without having to re-record the entire message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Auto Attendants page, click the name or extension that you want to manage the greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clicking on the speaker next to the Intro Greetings<\/strong> will display the Manage Greeting window. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Manage Greetings pop-up window will appear.  You can either upload a new greeting or record a new one. Then you can select a time frame for that message so it will only play during the selected time frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add your intro greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To upload a new greeting, click Upload. <\/strong>Click the Browse<\/strong> button to find the MP3 or WAV file you want to use for your greeting.  Click the file and click Open. <\/strong>Click Upload.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To record a new greeting, click Record.  <\/strong>In the Call me at<\/strong> field, enter the number to call you (either an extension or a cell phone number) and click Call. <\/strong>Your phone will be called. At the prompt, record the new greeting, and the press #<\/strong> when you finish your recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uploading a Greeting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the Settings<\/strong> tab located in the Messages page, click the speaker icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on Upload<\/strong> and click the Browse<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • In the Choose File to Upload dialog box, select a WAV or MP3 recording from your PC, and then click Open. <\/strong>The path and file name will appear in the Browse<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
